Wayne M. Kwiat, Sr. attended St. Albert the Great grade school in Burbank, Illinois near Oak Lawn in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago. Graduating in 1960 he then attended the following high schools: Quigley North, Quigley South, and Brother Rice High School where he successfully graduated in 1964. After attending Western Michigan University from 1964 to 1968 and receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, he attended the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois and was awarded a Juris Doctor degree in 1972. After passing the Illinois Bar Exam he began his practice in Will County May 22, 1973 as a sole practitioner in the general practice of law.

As a practicing attorney he was awarded the 1995 "Outstanding Pro Bono Volunteer" from the Will County Legal Assistance program as well as the 1995 "Certificate of Honorable Mention" from the Illinois State Bar Association. Having received both awards in the same year was quite an accomplishment.

His other involvement in the community - President of the Parade Committee, a Coach for Little League and T Ball, Church leader, Jaycee activities and Republican Committeeman from May 1990 until April 2001. During 1990, Mr. Kwiat received both the JAYCEE's "Distinguished Service Award", as well as, the Mayor of Bolingbrook's "Male Citizen of the Year" by Roger Claar, Mayor of Bolingbrook, IL.

Wayne began serving the business community of Bolingbrook in 1975 as a charter member of the Bolingbrook Business Association where he served both as Treasurer and later as President. A few years later the Association became the Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce. He has also served two terms as President of the Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce from 1991 to 1993, was again elected to the position of President serving from 1999 to 2000. Additionally, from 1993 to 1994, Wayne served as the Secretary of the Chamber. From 1975 to 2000, Wayne served a total of 25 years formulating the foundations of the Chamber of Commerce of Bolingbrook.

The Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce in 2005 instituted it's first ever" Best of Bolingbrook Business Awards". The law Office of Wayne M. Kwiat, Sr. was the recipient of the BOBB Award in the category of Professional Business.

As an attorney, Mr. Kwiat served as Legal Advisor to several Homeowner Associations, created many Condo Associations, and served as the attorney for Boughton Road Business Condo Association. He served on the Board of the Clusters Homeowner Association, and the Indian Oaks Homeowners Association. He currently serves as the President of the Claridge Estates Homeowners Association. During the March 2008 ACTHA Spring Meeting, Mr. Kwiat recieved the “Certified Leader” certificate, as fully trained board member
